Frequently Asked Questions

When will I see the design for my appointment?

You will see your design when you come into the studio. If you decide you do not like what I have prepared for you we can always reschedule.

If I send you an email, am I guaranteed to get tattooed?

Unfortunately, I do get more requests than I have availability for, so I prioritize the projects that interest me most. This helps me to create tattoos that I am proud of and also helps me find a balance between work and my personal life.

How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

Get 8-9 hours of sleep the night before, eat a large satiating breakfast, bring your own water/drinks, avoid caffeine, do not come hungover, bring cash if possible.

Can I bring a friend?

We prefer people not to bring friends since there is limited space in the shop, but if you’re nervous and need someone to accompany you that’s totally fine.

Can I use numbing cream?

I use a less abrasive low-dose lidocaine spray during longer sessions - but prefer not to use numbing cream. In my own experience, numbing creams can tighten the skin and make it difficult to tattoo, and can cause the tattoo to heal poorly.

How much does large-scale work cost?

Getting a large-scale tattoo like a sleeve or back piece is a big commitment that can either take a few sessions or a lifetime of sessions. There is no “typical” price tag on a large-scale tattoo because every project is so vastly different.

What should I use for aftercare?

Any soap, lotion, or ointment is fine to use as long as it is non-scented/fragrance-free. Gently wash your tattoo with soap under warm water 2-3 times a day and apply lotion or ointment afterward. Tattoos need careful attention especially in the 2-3 weeks following your session; in this time avoid direct sunlight and do not submerge in water. Peeling/light scabbing is perfectly normal.
